I am looking for a public area in the Imperial Valley to hunt Quail. I would like to take my 14 year old son who had his first dove hunt in Yuma and loved it.
Any info to help out a newbie

Thanks

Well best bet is by the canals in El Centro or any other counties. I always see large covies of Gambles during dove season but never see them this late in the year. I may run into one or two when hunting pheasant in El Centro buut its uncommon for me atleast.

I have not hunted that area but I would say in the desert areas look for water and you should find birds.

If there is time you may be able to contact a Fish and Game biologist in the area or call some gun stores for some general areas.

Good luck and keep taking that boy hunting!
