How durable is the silver grayed receiver finish? And how is the silver grayed finish best cared for?

Great question - I have wondered about that myself! Also, is the "French Grey" finish the metal itself, or a true finish applied on the base metal?

There are several types of grey/silver finishes used in the gun business. A few are "German Silver",annodized aluminum,annodized hiduminum,"coin finish",nickle plate,true silver plate,white gold plate,"French grey", and more. Also, some guns can be had "in the white". That is without any finish and only a high polish. Galazan offers some SxS guns like this.
