I don't know if I ever have ventured into any other area with more conjecture and information. I am relatively new to reloading and I'am not so interested in any exotic mixture or special recipes as I am just tried and true info. I would appreciate hearing what you all consider to be the best source for reloading information. My criteria is simple and clear instructions and information. Thanks for your help.

Try and find a copy of Lyman's "Shotshell Reloading Handbook". It should be readily available on the web for around $30. Another good source of information is the basic reloaders manual on Hodgdon powder's web site at http://www.hodgdon.com. This manual mainly deals with test and perfected recipes using their powder. Hope this helps---AFG
Welcome MartyW:

Shotshell Reloading Handbook 5th Edition (Paperback)

$25.95
This is our "bible". We all use it.

http://www.amazon.com/Shotshell-Reloadi ... 653&sr=1-1

Everything breaks down first according to GAUGE.

Then it breaks down according to the OUNCE measurement of lead shot you load.

Then by your Choice of Hull, of Powder etc etc etc.

If you need to know how to reload, the above books are great.

If you are looking for recipes, then go to the power source site for the latest data.

Granted that most powders are canister, they do vary over the years, and the powder manufacture will be the most current source for it's loading data.

Such as for Hodgon,
http://www.hodgdon.com/
then go to the pull down for data for either loads or bushing sizes.
Martyw,

As stated above, Lyman publishes the gold standard for shotshell reloading. However, RCBS also has a handbook out, and it has the best identification section of anything I have seen. There are photos of hulls and sectioned hulls, followed by a detailed description of each.

Also, not mentioned is the need of a scale so you can verify whatever powder drop your bushing is giving you. The bushing charts are only a rough guide.

Welcome to the forum. Lots of experience here.

Is it possible that he has been defending our country for the last 6 years and has just retired?
or
Has been in a comma?
or
Is just now recovering from a nasty divorce?

That's the second thread today that was started a long time ago and just picked back up today as if it was new.

The other one was on Shotguns-General by a poster named "goshen". Seems weird!
