I have three different kinds of new nontoxic's to reload.
1) tungsten bronze at 12 density B, 3, 5's
2) new soft iron tungsten shot that federal loads and sells. BB, 2, 4's.
3) a new tungsten nickle iron at 13.5 density. #6's

I have 12gage 3"&2 3/4 hulls primed and steel powder and hs7 powder. I have loaded some of the 4's 2 3/4 with 34 grains of steel at an 1 1/8 oz load and got 1270 fps and 10700 psi pressure. I think this is good but not great any sugestions?

You just cut some shells apart or have a connection?

What hulls primers wads you using and what are your goals?
Are you trying to get a certain payload or certain velocity or both?

Seems to me that 1350 - 1450 would on the high side of perfect velocity, but people like speed these days too.....

I would think you can achieve same results as the various Hevi loads with these shots, but a lot of it seems to be controlled by the hull and wad... as well as the primer.

I will look up what my wads and primes are and get back to you tomarrow.

Thanks for the help

Ike,
As Wade said i would use the Hevi data.

The one load that I have had good success with is the the Quicksilver II.

It uses the Fio hull (multi hull will work).

I don't think you need the 3" hulls. If you use the 3" hulls it will need a lot of fillers. 1 1/4 oz should be fine.

My favorite wad for this application is the CLBC. The R+ and Multi Metal (with the thicker wad petals) gave me to tight of patterns. These pellets, as you know, already pattern tight. So a more open choke and a wad you can slit gives better patterns. At least for me.

Good luck.

I'm going to send you a PM
