Does anyone here have an 11-48? If you do, is there something special about removing the bolt?

I have a friend's 11-48 and he wants it cleaned. I can get it apart, but can't seem to get the bolt out the front. I've removed the operating handle, but it won't slide out the front. Any idea what I'm missing?

Did the shell stop fall out? If not, remove it.
Is the trigger assy. out? The book has the trigger assy. out before the bolt.

I owned one for years. It is not easy to get out. In fact I don't know how. But never needed to in 40 years. Or maybe I did, don't remember, but the bolt toggle has to be pulled out of course. Not necessary in normal cleaning.

Well, it turns out I just needed to use a little more force. There was some gunk in the slot holding the bolt base plate. A little more umph and some momentum and it came right out. Got it cleaned up and back to the owner. Happiness all around.

Great gun.
