Yes, kind of. The barrel channel will be 12 gauge sized. This will make your 16 gauge barrel look real thin in the wood. I have read of instances where shooters have "built up" to fill the gap on each side of the barrel.

I cannot findwhere Remington sold just a 16 gauge fore end in the "modern" era. Looking at an old 'paper' parts list from the 70s, they listed a 12/16 forend (same thing).
