As a Remington partisan, just buy the new 20 gauge Express HD that is in the new Spring catalog on the Remington website, plus a spare 26" or 28" barrel. Both clays and HD taken care of for 500-600 bucks.

Or(/and?) the new Marine Magnum with the Trinyte finish (all black).

Or, a used 870P as HD, and a 20 gauge WM for clays.

The point being, get an 870 or two, if your budget limit is $1400!

No offense to the Benelli fans!

Last thing, keep the add-ons to a minimum, since your focus in HD (as with clays) should be on the TARGET, and a basic 12 or 20 gauge tube with 3-4 round quick reload capability will be all you need, unless you are invaded by a Marine Rifle Squad! And at the likely range of engagement of HD, the Vang Comp will be nice to brag about, but of dubious improvement over the stock CYL or IC.

Note: My "3-4 round quick reload capability" assumes a down-loaded mag extension!
