removing bead
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
how do i remove the bead off my shotgun without having to take it to a gunsmith or something? tried unscrewing it several times with needle nose pliers but it doesn't work. i plan on installing a TruGlo sight in its place. the model of my gun is a Remington 870 express pump action. thanks

though i am not familiar with your gun, not all beads unscrew of the rib. Some are fixed on a small base in the rib, so if you turn them you are turning the whole base. If you can keep the base still you might be able to unscrew the bead
Its not how well you shoot ,
its how much noise your gun makes

I've used a 3/8" drill chuck, turn it down until it's snug, than tighten with the chuck key, than turn it out. Masking tape the rib to protect it. Shells

Ohkay i was just wondering because in competition you sometimes need the bead.
I've taken pliers to a mossberg sight once. (never to the browning though)

A cheaper easier solution would be a Hi-Viz magnetic optic sight. I use one and think they're great. They go about $15 and no modifictions are needed.
