I know you've all seen the gold oval initial plate on the buttstock of higher end shotguns. There was a thread posted not too long ago with a gentleman removing the plate itself and it looked way more difficult than what my skills would offer. Was wondering if anyone had a trick or worked a little magic to remove or hide someone elses initials? I know this sounds cheesy but i've seen little gold stickers in my kids easter basket that would probably cover nicely if it would stay in place.

I don’t use these stickers to hide initials but rather, to avoid confusion when my gun is in a rack with a dozen or more others … they usually fit perfectly on the bottom of the shotguns pistol grip …

I acquired a gun once that had a sterling silver grip cap with the previous owner's initials engraved in it. One of our members, who engraved, trophies, plaques and the like, asked me if I would like to have my initials put on that cap. I pointed out it was already engraved. He said "no problem; engraving doesn't remove metal, it just pushes it aside. The metal is still there. I will gather it up, fill the letters and it will look like it's never been touched."
So, maybe you can find a shop that sells and engraves trophies to remove the initials.

This sounds interesting and something relatively simple like I was hoping for.
