I inherited a Eastern Arms 101-1, 12G, single barrel (30") shotgun. I understand from searching on-line, this is an Iver Johnson gun made for Sears and Roebuck, a "hardware" gun without great value. Stock has some light scratches, metal could use cleaning (bluing?) and stock recoil pad is all dried. I don't believe that it needs parts, except for stock recoil pad that is all dried out. Ideas for restoring at a reasonable price? I've got no gun experience, but I'm very handy. Is there a place to get instructions for taking this single barrel with top level apart? Thanks.

I have an old single shot in a similar situation. No real value. Belonged to a family member. Currently a wall hanger.

I found some good information on re-blueing on YouTube and will sand and re oil the stock.

This thread is the one I will be following when I refinish my shotgun.

Make sure the gun is very very clean before you start.

I just realized that this is four years old, but oh well. If anyone is looking for restoration work, Please PM me, as I have a close friend who does this in Aurora. He is a trained gunsmith as well.
