Ok, I’m a long time Browning / Winchester / Remington shooter who has no complaints with these brands (O/Us, semis & pumps). I’ve now started looking at a newer Rizzini S2000 28 ga w 32” bbls, for 5 stand & skeet and hoping to get current & past Rizzini owners experiences and opinions. I’ve been reading much over the net but still have questions…

here are some areas of interest

  • I’ve read the Rizzini’s are known to pierce Cheddite primers. true or false for newer S2000s.
  • how does the S2000 compare to Browning Citoris in reliability and ability to access repair service, can any gunsmith get parts to fix most issues?
  • is the S2000 fit & finish better than on Citori high grades?
  • is the Turkish walnut stock a better wood than Browning high grades’ American walnut?

thanks

I shot Citoris for years and love them as well, but will say the only gun I have left is a Rizzini Artemis 20g. Sold my last Browning, a 725 Sporting 20g not because I didn’t love it, but because I just don’t shoot enough anymore to warrant multiple guns. I’ve had 4 rizzinis and all have had excellent quality, fit and finish. My Artemis is stunning and has outstanding wood. The may Citori models I’ve owned have been great guns, maybe a few fit and finish nitpicks here and there but nothing that would stop me from buying that particular gun. As for wood quality, each gun will be individual as I’ve seen some high Brownings with ho-hum wood and same with Rizzini as well, you literally will have to see each gun individually as obviously no two guns are the same. I will say I’ve been much happier with the wood finish on the Rizzinis, just has a nicer look to my eye.

I bought the Rizzini Arum round body and I am quite happy with it. Had one problem and it was repaired under warranty and returned within a week, so in my experience the customer service is outstanding. The machine engraving is absolutely the best I have ever seen. Wood quality is very good as is the fit and finish. It is about the equal of the Citori. I’m very pleased with mine.

I've owned two S-2000s. The first one doubled the first time out, then I spent some 15 months mailing it back and forth to Fierce Arms in Utah. It never did work properly (four trips back) and to their credit they finally replaced the action, so I am now on my second S-2000. This one has worked flawlessly. I understand Cole's is now a sales/service center, and if this is accurate I would just order one from them and go directly to them for service. By the way, TGS did a one hour video of a visit to the Rizzini factory and it is worth watching if you are getting on the Rizzini train. Bottom line, great looking and great handling gun. Good luck!

Thanks for your input. I’ve also watched a Rizzini factory tour video and read much as I could find on the S2000 and other models and getting ready to move to the next step of making an offer on one here in Canada.

As indicated in the opening post, it is a newer (Btb 2018ish) S2000 28 ga 32” bbls w adjustable comb. The seller is asking $5,000 CAD.

Is this a fair price, above or below market? It’s hard to get an accurate picture because there are not many used S2000s around that are for sale.

I have been comparing this gun to the Browning 725 sporting sub gauges which I’ve seen listed around $4,000. In your opinion, would this be an unreasonably low offer for a similar used S2000?
