I would not put truoil over the top of any oil finish, or BLO for that matter. That is refinishing and you are just looking for routine maintenance.

If it needs a bit of touch up eventually use TimberLuxe.

TimberLuxe™ Finish 1/2 oz. — TimberLuxe

But you shouldn't have to add any top coats unless the finish is damaged, then use TimberLuxe. Just wipe it down with a clean cloth at the end of the day to clean it. I like to use a little Ballistol personally. I would avoid anything with silicone or wax.

I am surprised that they recommended that because TruOil is not really an oil. It is only a small part linseed oil with a urethane finish and dryers. IMO it is more of a varnish.
For a few seconds I had the same thought. But realize that Rizzini USA is just part of Fierce Firearms who specializes in rifles. Not knocking their gunsmiths, but most likely the ubiquitous Tru-Oil is all they know or have even heard of.

Now that Coles is an authorized Rizzini repair facility once again pretty sure I know what they would say if you called them and asked about maintaining and repair of an oil finish on a shotgun.
