I realize this is probably old news for most of you, but it was new news for me last night when I discovered that Savage is finally doing a 20ga model 220 bolt gun.

When are they hitting store shelves, anyone know for sure?

Ed Hubel, what are your thoughts on this 110 action they are using and the pressures it can handle? I want to do a rebarrel in 600 Nitro Express when the gun is available, if the action can handle it.

If it has 2 or 3 front locking lugs like rifles,
it'll handle 600NE easy.Or any NE case, like 577.
500, 577-500,, and even handle my 585 HE.Ed

I might do your 585HE. That sounds like one hell of a cartridge and I like that size of bullet selection better than I do the .620 line.

I contacted Savage today. I was told 2 weeks on release. I called my nearest dealer and put one on order. I will get photos up as soon as I can get a hold of one. I will have to add a wood stock with a custom box mag to accomodate the longer length rounds, and maybe some lower feed port machining like I did with the 210 to feed 3.5" OAL cartrdges.

Please post picture of the front of the bolt when you get
it in comparison with the 12ga one Savage did.ed
