Is there a site that can tell me how old my Model 11 is using the serial #? My serial # is 81301 and its a 12ga. I'm hoping I can tell what buttstock I need by its age. My buttstock is broken and very hard to get a accurate reading on. I know the metal tang on top is 3.5" and the bottom is 3-1/8", but I can't measure the wood tang slots, since its broken.

1909! I guess I better watch what I shoot through it. I've had it for many many years, but have never fired it due to the broken buttstock. Thanks for the info.

Post whats stamped on the right side of the barrel next to the receiver and we can probably tell you the month. 99% sure mines from Dec. 1910 Serial#108845

Just got my access to internet back. The only thing stamped on the right side is the initials R.P. and there's nothing but the choke size on the other side, which is Full.

It is my understanding that the date code thing on the barrel didn't start until 1922. The RP stands for Remington proof. This was changed to REP on newer guns for some unknown reason.
