What is the step by step process that I would have to undertake in order to buy a shotgun outside of Michigan and import it to my home in Michigan?

a gun that needs to be shipped to you after purchase needs to be shipped to someone local that has FFL license....that could be a gunsmith, a gun shop, or even some pawn shops, etc....they will charge you a fee for receiving the gun...and you'd pick it up from them...around here the fee is usually around $20 or so...hope this helps.

Find a FFL dealer and ask them what the process is. Some of them will do everything from ordering to receiving the gun and others will only recieve it after you do the ordering and payment. There will be a transfer fee from $20 to $50 depending on where you go and how much work it is for them.
