I'm sure I'm not the only one to have given nicknames to some of my shotguns.
For example, I have an old bolt action Mossberg 20ga shotgun which I've dubbed, naturally, "Old Bolty". It seems like the "Old" moniker is pretty popular ("Old Bessy", "Old Gal", etc.). "Big" is also fairly common as in "Big Bertha" for that 10ga shotgun you inherited from your Granddad.
I just bought a 32" Winchester 101 O/U, and I'm considering going with something more masculine like "Buster", or maybe "Buster T. Bronco". "Winny" just doesn't seem to fit this gun. I also considered "The Finger of Doom", but until I can regularly knock down "25 Straights", I'll have to put that nickname on hold.
