I have a shotkam, have not used in a while. Decided to use it
some more, and first decided to switch it from last gun to another.
It was on a Remington V3, but I decided to put it on my rat gun,
a cobbled up Win SX-1 that I use often for experimenting.
So I made the transfer, and I had to re-zero the crosshair.
What a load of crap that is, with my cell phone. Maybe other
cell phones work good with this, but mine is a total night mare.
I don't even use this phone, just bought it to run half-assed
applications like a calibrated microphone and then this shotkam.
It is a smart phone, and I hate smart phones anyway. I use
an old flip phone for mobile phone. If I want on the internet,
I want a computer, not some idiot POS smart phone with a
tiny little screen and half-assed speaker.
To work with the shotkam, the phone is put in WIFI mode,
and then the phone and shotkam try to link up and you are
supposed to use your phone to look at what the shotkam sees,
and use the phone to move the crosshairs that it displays
on videos, and you put that crosshair on the point that your
gun sights are pointed at. Getting the two things linked up
takes about 10 tries, and then they lose connection with
each other just as I am getting started. This happens about
20 times. Nothing works like it is described.
I finally got the crosshairs set after about 30 minutes of yelling
a cursing, just like last time I set it up. After it is set up, it does
work pretty well at letting me download videos to a Mac or
Windows computer, just too bad it doesn't have an application
program available for Mac or Windows for setting the damn
thing up so I don't have use this idiot phone.
Maybe some other smart phone works better than this piece
of crap I am using. Do any other shotkam users out there
have a smart phone that gives no trouble linking up with the
shotkam and setting things up?
