Left side of reciever marked "XPERT - WITTE HDWE CO. - ST. LOUIS, MO." Top of barrel marked "410-12m/m". ID aft of the trigger guard, A398360. The frame appears to be 12ga, the barrel exterior is large in the rear and tapers down. Single bead sight, exposed hammer. No safety.

Pretty sure that XPERT was simply a tradename of Witte Hdw. No idea who might have made the gun.

You wouldn't happen to know a date on it would you, or a possible range of dates it was made? It's still in very good mechanical condition and the wood is not too bad, just dirty, but the metal needs to be re-blued.
