I am a resident of Idaho, making a trip to S California to visit family.
With the crazy gun laws out there should I be concerned about bringing a two shot O/U into the state? Is California a steel shot state for sporting clays?
Any advice other than “stay in Idaho” appreciated!

Well you might have a bit of a drive. Raahauges is in Corona and probably the closest. There is 15 competition stations with 4 machines per and 10 trainer stations with 2 machines per. Ammo can be bought there but it is pricey.

That is a 1/2 day drive from N SD! Maybe I should leave the guns here and visit Legoland, 15 minutes from my daughter’s house!

No need for concern, no need for steel shot. Several great places to shoot at in S Cal. Have fun.

From Redlands shooting park to Moore n Moore Sporting clays is a 90 minute drive between them is LA Clays and Raahauges is just a little south. In South California the courses are all close in the Los Angeles area.

Friends, even internet ones, don’t let friends go to California. My brother’s leaving for
Texas soon, I won’t ever go again, thanks.
Well…. don’t let the door knob hit you where the good lord split you!

Something you should know about California, as a visitor, you can bring a lot of things into the state, including your legal firearms. You can even smuggle in people and drugs.

but god forbid you bring in a piece of fruit !

Just FYI, Redlands is a pretty small course, mainly caters to trap shooters. LA Clays, Rahaagues and Moore&Moore are your best bets.

If by any chance you are heading South on the I5 in central CA, just outside of Bakersfield is Kern County Gun Club. An interesting place to shoot with two main courses: a pretty normal sporting course, then their "Death Row" course, currently set as a US Open training course where you'll find some very challenging targets. Definitely worth a stop or even minor detour to shoot it.

Shocking, a mildly anti-California post on shooting site, shocking!
Yeah, just dont see the need to force politics up my nose to spite my face.

Plus, if the venue I want to shoot at is a nice one with friendly folks, I’m happy to give them my $$.

Being from California, I can understand how the rest of the country lumps us all together. But it's NOT the case. If you look at the red/blue map, you'll see virtually all of the blue is located in the LA basin and SF Bay area -- massive populations centered around higher-level education institutions; AKA the bastions of libtardism... Get outside those areas, and you're in friendly territory.

And if you look closely you'll see in these heavily populated places most of these Liberals come from other
states or countries ! The true old fashion Red Necks that came to this state to work in the shipyards or to
pick fruit are now , people who don't speak english .....!!

California has a well earned and deserved “reputation”. What are any of the California conservatives doing to change that? Apparently they are all moving to Texas.🤮
