State-by-State Gun Laws

I have decided a wonderful tool would be for all of us to fully understand the rights we each have in our individual states. I have compiled a list of links that should take you directly to the laws as currently written (6-27-03). IF I leave a state blank, and someone knows of a link for that state's laws, please feel free to post it.

Disclaimer: Shotgunworld does not take responsibility for the laws as represented by these links and any interpretation of these laws. The links are for information purposes only, and interpretation shall be the responsibility of the user. This list, in no way, represents all of the laws for a particular state. For detailed and complete information, contact your local law enforcement agency.

Bear with me....this is a project in the making.

Illinois State laws:http://www.findgreatlawyers.com/Areas/GunLaws/9FAQs.htm
FYI, Chicago requires gun registration. Its $20 per year for the application and you need 2 photos and to have the application notorized. FYI they have not allowed handgun registration since the early 1980's.

Thanks

Mark
Thanks for the info Mark. As you can see I am a bit behind. I will try to get this completed fairly soon.

The criminal codes are generally 900+.
Firearms law is located in 941(sub III)

This website seems to have a fairly comprehensive set of links to state laws.

Why not just go to the NRA-ILA website? They have links to the gun laws in all the states.

Another good site with similar information and also lots of discussion on carrying handguns is http://www.packing.org
Here is a link to the NRA-ILA site that should get you started.

the laws are tight over there so you cant enjoy your self can you.
Could somebody please tell me if Kansas has or enforces the "Obligation to Flee" or the "Duty to Retreat"? I've been searching for months and all I get is the "Stand your Ground" law in Florida, nothing else.
My neighbor just found out. The best homeland security is a loaded gun in the coat closet!
