Not everyone chooses to wait until the bird is committed, indeed not everyone is in a position to do so. A couple of years ago I made the decision only to shoot ducks when moonflighting; if I waited until I discerned their feet I'd have a very bored dog and a wonderfully clean gun.It is all about gettin em in close with their feet down with steel or any ammo.
Obviously I don't get big numbers so Bi or ITM does me, depending on the gun I'm using. Faststeel isn't available.
