Were going pheasant hunting and the land is near a river so we need to use steel shot 6 or bigger. Is it safe to use steel shot in a high standard semi-auto shotgun made in the 70's with a adjustable choke.
I'm betting that's a Supermatic Trophy c-100. If it is the answer is yes it is safe. I shot steel through mine just fine it is a 1960. Now this is asumining you have a c-100. The best thing to do is go to a local smith, he will be able to tell you for sure and he will most likley do it in 2 seconds and not charge you a dime.
