WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU FIRE STEEL SHOT THRU A CHOKE TUBE NOT RATED FOR STEEL? IS THIS DANGEROUS IN ANY WAY?

IT SURE CAN BE. If the constriction is too tight or if the steel that the choke is made from is not strong enough to take the non-tox pellets damage to the gun or you could occur....thats why they developed the tubes that are safe to shoot non-tox through.

Rick.....thanks for the warning, my education continues! So the deal is because of the hardness of the shot, it won't compress like lead as it passes thru the choke....I get it.

Yes- the choke can fail, but more likely it will begin to deform. Steel-use tubes are made from harder alloys. You can fire BB steel shot through a superfull buckshot tube- but after a season of two your buckshot tube will not longer be superfull. The worst-case scenario is that you weaken your tube enough that you blow it off the end of you gun when you shoot. Now you have a mess...
