I have a Stevens model 335 s/s. The forearm does not snap into place. I disassembled the forearm and found the forearm spring spring was broken. I ordered one and I cannot figure out how to install it and get it to apply pressure to the spring.
Anyone have any ideas or suggestions on how the spring spring is installed?
Your 235 looks very similar to my 335. Although, your’s shows the main spring is two notches. Mine is smooth where you show the spring spring going to. I have marked the spring spring in trying to put it in the notch on the spring.
I tried turning it over but the spring does not bend back to fit the whole on the other side to screw the spring spring. it depends on how I put the spring spring in, it either matched the hole to secure the spring spring which case it doesn't hold any tension on the spring or it extends past it to where the wood screw comes down to attach the Iron to the forearm. I know there a secret way or should I say a way to hold the retention on the spring. I do appreciate your comments and suggestions.
