Does anyone know the difference between the Signature Series II and the Super X2 Sporting other than the color of the receivers and fore-end colors are reversed?

What are your thoughts on either one of these Super X2's if you own or have shot one?

I was at the skeet range yesterday with a shooter who was shooting a B25, 32" Sporter with Briley Ext. chokes and he broke the clays well. After 2 rounds he picked up his Super X2 Sporting and used the B25 choke and smoked every target for 2 rounds. All of us were stunned. Then we shot a round of doubles and I used the Super X2 Sporting (never shot a round of doubles before) and I missed 2 targets with the Super X2 shooting Olympic low-gun.

All of us (4) were really impressed with this Super X2 (it was the second time the owner had shot it) and it was the first time we had seen one on the range.

Comments appreciated - I am seriously considering purchasing one of the 2 models.

What timing! I just shot a new Super X2 Signature II (black stock, red receiver) this morning. A friend of mine just bought it, and he let me try it out.

It's an amazing gun. I tried the SigII on skeet and then trap. I smoked the targets, and was very impressed. When I first saw photos of the gun online, I thought it was ummm...a bit much in the looks department. After shooting it, I have changed my opinion. In fact, I'm now trying to talk myself OUT of buying one of these Winchesters within the next 2 weeks - before the $100 rebate expires.

I've handled both the Sig Red (red Dura-Touch stock with black receiver) and the Sig II. The main difference between the SX2 sporting models (other than the stock/receiver colors) is that the SigII has a different rib profile. It's a slightly lower rib than the SigRed. Even with the lower rib, I thought the SigII shot slightly high, although not nearly as much as a trap gun would. I also believe the SigRed has a matte finish barrel, while the SigII barrel has more of a gloss finish.

Both of these SX2 models have hardwood stocks. The SigRed is painted red with Dura-Touch coating added, while the SigII has a metallic black painted finish, and some sort of hard "bowling ball" type finish.

I may have to get some price quotes this week.
