I was wondering what you folks thought of these guns(Supreme field).I think they were made before the current line of Winny o/u's (Selects).I would like to know about build quality, metal/wood, etc.I would like to know who made 'em and also how they balance.I shoot a Beretta 687 most of the time for the uplands, but I have an oportunity to pick up a new Supreme at a discount and thought the 28" gun might be good for duckies? Thanks, Rob.

Rob, I was a gunsmith for 40 years, now retired and I bought one a couple of years ago when the new Selects came out for $899.00 On the new one they lightened up the barrels as some gun writer said it was nose heavy. The rest is just cosmetic. I have the Sporting with 30 in. barrels. I just took some shot and put it in a ziplock bag and put it in the stock. used just enough so it now balances at the hinge.

They are a very well built gun. built in Belgium by FN. The trigger group looks like a watch and very well thought out. Locks up like a beretta but also has a lower lug that the Beretta does not have. Has the best bluing job of any gun I have unless I did it myself. I have many guns that I have gotten over the years but realy love the Winchester. I use mine for all the clay games. I think you would realy like the gun if it fits you.

I have to agree with Dave A - although I am not a gunsmith.
I have a Win Supreme 28". Just like Dave said, made in Belgium by FN. A very fine gun in my opinion. I was so impressed I bought a couple of the new Select Energy's :!:

They do take the Invector Plus chokes by the way if that matters to you. so chokes are plentiful.
