I can't budge the cross pin at the end of the recoil spring tube. I tried to punch it out. I tired to heat it with a torch. I even resorted to beating on it with a plastic mallet. Nothing has even budged it so far! I really want to clean my recoil spring and tube and get some dry lube on there. Any tips on how to solve this problem?

Well not a blow torch but a mini butane lighter torch. Tried to get the metal to expand a little to loosen the pin up. Bad idea?

I had the same problem, but I kept on punching mine. It did mushroom the pin, but I sanded it back down with a Dremel. I also sanded the entire outside of the pin until I got a snug fit rather than a really tight fit.

I know this link refers to an SX2, but ithe SX3 is basically the same.

Put a piece of aluminum angle on one side of your vice jaw to put the pin againest and a small deep socket over the pin on the other side and use your vice as a press. Once you get the pin flush it should now come out the rest of the way with a punch.
