Hi,I was going to install a sidesaddle on my Rem.870 express Home defense gun.On a website It lists a 6 round side saddle on express models minor modification may be required.Does anybody know what needs to be modified?How minor? Any advice on how and what tools to do this fitting would be appreciated.I would like to know before I bother to order.Thanks!

The modification would be if you have the long forend on your shotgun. You can check this by retracting the slide and if any portion of the rear of the forend comes over the receiver then you have a long forend. The modification would be to remove some material from the forend to allow the action to slide all the way back. The best mod would be to buy the shorter forend.

thanks for the reply.Just got finished cutting and sanding.Your recommendation is a good one,I would never bother modifying the factory forend again.Life would've been easier,just buying a short forend.And a big thanks to Remington for making my life so much easier :roll:
