A friend of mine will soon be buying a shotgun. I've heard that you now need to take some kind of test before you can make the purchase. Can anyone give me any info about the test? Would my friend need to take a class or is the test simple and just common sense?

If you have a hunting license you don't need to take the test. If you don't, you can go on the dept of justice website and the have a study guide. Takes about 30 minutes to learn enough to pass. As expected from the government, many topics are legal related and don't apply to most people but you still need to learn them so no studying may not pass.

Yes that is the study guide. It used to be just handguns now all guns.
