I use a Beretta 391 with a 28" bbl at the range, but, now my son wants to go with me too. Our other shotgun is a 20" pump.
Has anyone used a short bbl. for trap and skeet??
I would use the 20." ... I thought I'd ask here, before showing up at the range and looking like a ... well, getting strange looks.

Thanks!

Hey, I can hit 3-4-5 with my home defense Maverick with 18 non-choked barrel!

Why not use it? When he starts using your gun more than you do you'll know it's time to buy him his own, or, better yet, hand yours down to him and buy yourself a new gun!

Thanks for the replies! I know I hadn't seen anyone with a short barrel on the trap and skeet range, but I figured that didn't mean they couldn't be used. Heck, I figured you would have to be a good shot to use a shorter gun! Like I said in the other post, I have the 28" Beretta, but when I started thinking I was going to need another long gun with two of us shooting, I thought...Well I could use the 20" pump, then, thinking about it, I never saw anyone using one.
Shame on me for worrying about what somebody might think.
It was a relief though, to read your posts saying it is "do-able."

The 20" is a Mossberg 590.
