Many years ago I purchased a weatherby sa-08 compact Turkish made gas operated 20ga for my daughter. Since then I added a longer stock as she grew. I’ve unsuccessfully attempted to find a 26-28” barrel for it in an effort to re-balance the gun. I know that tri-star sells the same gun under as the raptor model. I m hoping to either find someone that would be willing to sell a 2” barrel extension that the tri star raptor youth model comes with or find a longer barrel. Any input or other ideas would be welcome. Thanks!

Check your choke tread pattern. The Weatherby used the standard Invector/winchoke. Most of the Tristars use Mobil chokes. I do not have personal experience with the Tristar 20 ga, just 12, 28, and 410. I doubt the Tristar barrel will fit the Weatherby, they are both gas operated but have the spring in very different places. Call Weatherby, last I heard they were short on parts.
Some of the choke tube companies sell long chokes which would put more weight up front. I use Comp N Chokes on my 26" barreled Citori to put weight up front and make the barrels almost 28". Way cheaper than a new barrel. Tru Loc also made some Lon chokes on the Invecto/Win choke pattern, At least in 12 ga. Possibly in 20. They had 1.5" or more in front of the barrel.

Thanks for the responses! While I would like to have a 28" barrel length, that would require new barrel (if I could find one used for sale) or a barrel extension. I called Weatherby and they do not make that gun anymore with a barrel anylonger than 24". The extension I'm sure is going to be around $175 from briley. I found a 2" ported colonial choke tube that should fit the invector style choke that this came with for $51. I think Im going to go this route first before I try the briley extension.

Thanks guys!!
