Why do shotguns sold for Turkey hunting have typically shorter barrels?

It makes them easier to carry through brush and branches catch on the barrel less when they are slung over your shoulder. They are also easier to swing around on a turkey as they approches when you are in the brush. It makes the gun lighter. This also makes it easier to carry on long walks. A shorter gun will balance with less weight at the front of the gun making it easier to hold in the shooting position.
Guten Morgen and Merry Christmas to all,

I've looked at Side X Side Shotguns made in Turkey and
their Quality is quite good. The two CZ/Hugu Bobwhite's
(20ga and 12ga) at the local GunShop have very, very good
guncraft incorperated into them. Price is reasonable too.

Good Luck at looking for Turkey made shotguns.
 SxS, the guy was asking about a gun made for turkey hunting, not a Turkish made gun.

Guten and Morgan are probably good guns as well. :p :p
To answer your original question, it helps sell more shotguns.
