Let me first say that I have both RSI and BP hevi-shot manuals and I do follow recipes and common sence. I weight all the charges (powder and shot) with a digital scale when I reload hevi-shot.

Yet, I was wondering if one can load safely hevi-shot using a steel recipe, given the powder and the wad are hevi-shot compatible as well (say "Steel" powder and "SAM1") ?

Both the hevi-shot and the steel dont give in nearly as much as lead, and about the only difference would be the volume taken by the shot (which can be adjusted with spacers)
