I have a 20ga side by side made by "N.R. Davis & sons" Norwich, Conn. Best guess is that it was made around 1933-35
26" barrels, double trigger, flat rib, choked mod/full...gun is in excellent shape...any idea on value for insurance purposes?
This is a family heirloom and not for sale...
Davis merged with Crescent in 1929. Both companies manufactured good quality utility shotguns. Typical value is between $75 and $150, though for 20ga I would add 10%
For some reason the Bluebook lumps Warner in with Crescent , even the guns made before the merger so, here's what I've found so far.
SxS MODEL
- values below assume standard models with double triggers, extractors, original finish, and 100% working order. Sidelock actions were also available and will command premiums from prices listed below. Shotguns with exposed hammers can equal their hammerless counterparts if condition is 80% or better.
