Essex Gun Works was a trade name sold by Belknap Hardware, Louisville, KY. The guns were manufactured by Crescent, Crescent-Davis, Stevens, and possibly others. Personally, I think these old trade-named doubles are worth $125-$150 in Good - Very Good condition plus maybe 50% for a 410. Some others seem to disagree and quote values about twice that with a 100% premium for the small *****.
ahnh, the price you quoted is what they really should be worth! but with the double fanatics that are out there now, especially crazed for the 410's.if its got good wood and locks up tight,he can probably get $225 to $325 in my area, depending on overall condition.
