I have a shotgun that was my great, great grandfathers. I was wondering if
anyone could tell me any any info about it, also what is
worth? It says on the side of it Hopkins and Allen Arms Company Norwich, Conn USA. Its
serial # is G 8148.
That sounds like a gun that is PRICELESS ............ to YOU, but I wouldn't expect someone else to feel the same way about its worth. I would just hang it on the wall in my den and look at it and think of great, great, grandad everytime I looked at it. I'm not sure if it would be safe to shoot with modern loads or not. I rather doubt it. I would err on the side of safety and remove the firing pin just for good measure. I wish I had a shotgun that belonged to my great, great, grandad, but it would probably be a Blunderbuss.
