I would estimate that it is in pretty good condition although there are some pretty good scratches right infront of the trigger.

Thanks... :)

bluebook values...

Grading 100% 98% 95% 90% 80% 70% 60%
$350 $295 $265 $225 $200 $185 $170

Last MSR was $545.
Subtract $40 if without VR.
Subtract $45 if without Rem. chokes

Ok, let's see if the gunsmith I took it to knew anything about the gun, since he was way off on the value estimation.

He says that the X signifies that the gun was a 20 gauge built on a "12 ***** chassis", so is he way out in left field on this statement as much as he was about the gun being worth 700$??

If anything, a 20ga built on a 12ga frame is less desireable than a 20ga on a 20ga frame. The newly re-introduced Rem 1100 Classic in 16ga is also built on a 12ga frame. Much to my sorrow.

Remember, this is a piece of used merchandise and value (and condition) can be quite subjective. You may want to ask the dealer what his estimate of value is based upon

For additional reference (what current asking prices are) you may want to go to:

www.gunbroker.com
www.gunsamerica.com
www.auctionarms.com

and I'm sure there are more out there. Remember, these are asking prices, not necessarily selling prices (the real value)
