BPI is currently selling Vectan D20 on a 2 for 1 basis (50% off). The normal price is $19.99 a bottle (1.1 lbs) so you can get it for $10 plus shipping and hazmat fee. It has applications for 12, 16, and 20 gauge shells. Here is the link: Vectan D20.

Note: This deal expires 10/20/2016

I checked out purchasing 10 bottles (to get 20, which equals 22#). You cant get free shipping (only 1 offer code accepted). So, my total was 199.90 + 30 haz + 26.78 = $256.68 delivered. Which is $93.33 per 8#. Figure a recipe calls for 10% more powder then my normal load, so now it really costs me roughly $103 per jug. And, I can pretty much only use this in handicap trap loads. Hmmmm ??? I suppose if you are using, say, Hodgdon International (at 160/jug) then this deal looks attractive. But my last 2 jugs of Promo were 106 ea at a shoot. Tempting, but I think I'll pass.

If they made this offer for PrimaV or AS, I'd be all over it. But, just like most powders, there are efficeint and inefficient uses for powder. Looks to me like D20 would be pretty good for a full 1 1/8 at 1250 handicap load. Just like bluesky says, start talking standard target loads and you do end up dropping several grains more of D20. 17 grains of Promo or 700X works pretty good. But 17 grains of AS on a two for one deal? Oh yeah, I'd try that.

If I were going to mail order Vectan and there was no 2fer offer at BPI, I'd go with Powder Valley. As I recall, their prices are $15.35 for the three granulars, and $16.25 for the others.
