Looking for any information on the Vulcan Arms Co and this shotgun. It's a beauty but I would like to know more. Thank you. Serial #255XXX.

Beautiful gun.

Vulcan Arms Co shotguns were made by Crescent (unless it has Belgian proofs..) for the Edward K Tryon Co of Philadelphia Pa.

I hope this isn't too ignorant of a question -- but how would I tell if it has Belgian proofs?

The Belgian proofmark is either an oval around ELG or the Perone (oblisque that looks like the Washington Monument). Look over the barrel and receiver. You may have to remove the barrel to find it.

If it were Belgian, the proof marks would include an oval containing the letters E L G, which is the stamp from the Liege proof house. Yours is an American made Cresent, marketed through H.D. Folsom; a standard hardware store gun.

I've got the same gun. I just posted a thread on it. I apologize for not searching for it on here before I did. If anyone knows where I can get parts for this gun please reply back. I'm thinking I might have to make the forearm myself.
