I have a charge card at walmart and they carry the Remington 870 , is 870 not a good model or somthing? I think walmart carry's fine shotguns, Im not saying the best but for what im using it for will do me just fine. Well thats how I look at it as well, cheaper gets my money. Just because Remington is being sold at walmart doent mean its a walmart brand with poor quality. Remington is Remington. Am I right or am I right?

I called a local gun shop today and asked them about buying at walmart and he went on and on about how the remingtons jam from walmart and is the lowest cheapest quality you can get, then I asked him what was different from the remington 870 he sold camparred to walmarts remingtons. I asked does his come customized or something to make it not jam? He was all choked up and did not have a answer. He did say his came with choke tubes.. ahhhh so does walmarts shotguns buddy. Its the same exact thing except for the price..

A little off topic... While I will shop at Wal-Mart, I absolutely refuse to use the check outs where you run the merchandise over the register yourself, put your money in the machine and off you go. I was at a regional chain grocery store once and the one employee who was watching th 4 "check yourself out" registers tried very hard to get me to use one of these registers. She told me several times that it would save me time, rather than waiting in the long line at the normal register. I finally told her I refuse to use the check yourself out registers and she asked why. When I explained that I felt these registers were taking jobs away from live cashiers, she questioned me as to why I believed this. I then pointed out she was watching 4 registers. That makes 1 cashier instead of 4 for the same number of registers. The look on her face was priceless when the light bulb came on![/b]
HAHa, that made me laugh, good come back!! :D

WOW, haha this thread was from when I was looking around for my first 870 :D :D In other words "many shells ago" :D

::Why not an update::

I went with the express from Walmart, I had to pound out the "dimples" in the mag tube to fit a mag extension on it.. Long story short, I parted out my Walmart 870 on ebay and sold the receiver on a forum (this decision was influenced by 870Pilot :D ) anyway's I actually made more money parting it out then I paid for the shotgun. Next I bought a used HD express 870 (BiG 5 type) with no dimples in the mag tube for $180, I then parted and sold everything off except for the receiver/trigger/bolt/carrier/forend rail/nut. I took that money and bought parts I personally prefer, now I have a shotgun I absolutely adore that has never given me a problem to this day. Durable/reliable/ = Priceless

Personally, I don't mind the express finish, if I get a knick on it I wont kick my self in rear for it.. But now that my express has proven itself to me, I have no problem dropping money down on a nice durable refinish.
