Hello I am trying to find out an approxament age and value of a single shot 12 gauge. The only marking on the gun is western field.the release is under the gun to open it for loading.it also has some kind of smoke release on the side. I cant tell you much more about it accept that it is old my guess over 100 years . Thanks for the help

Is there any other nomenclature on the gun that you can provide? You may have to look closer.
Also, take a digital photo and post if you can.

Many Western Field single shots were made by Savage.

There are no outher numbers that I can find. I will have pictures tomarrow. Any info would be greatly appreciated. The only things that are uniqe are that the gun release is on the bottom and it has some kind if nob on the side that twists. I was told it was probably a smoke release.
