I just recently came into the possession of my grandfather's old westernfield .410 single-shot bolt action. I have been told that these were pedominately carried by Montgomery Wards or Sears. I was wondering were I may be able to find some info on this gun. The only thing stamped on the barrel in the name westernfield and the serial number, so I really don't know what size shell it's cambered for. You can tell this gun has some years on it, but it's still in excellent shape and I wouldn't mine shotting it once in a while and starting my kids out on it. Any help is really appreciated. :?

Westernfield was a Montgomery Wards brand name. There's a good chance that the number you see isn't a serial number but a rollmark for ID, if you want to, post it and we'll se if it crossreferences to anything. You'd still be well advised to have a gunsmith check the chamber length.
