I had a significant drop in hits on my last to rounds of clays. Earlier this week I shot a 73/100 with some misses on a few easy ones. My last two rounds averaged 57/100. Same course, same gun, same partners, and I hit everything on the course....only not when it counted. Concentration???

KevinG - Given your scores, and the sense I get that you are really looking for a way to become your own best coach, my first thought is to recommend a couple of books which have come to my attention recently that are excellent.

A great introduction for beginning and intermediate shooters who are more interested in targets rather than hunting is Chris Batha's "Breaking Clays." Excellent: http://www.chrisbatha.com/gazette_05/ga ... ing05.html If lessons with a professional coach are beyond your budget, Mr Batha's book will fill the bill for you.

Then last year Gil & Vicki Ash published "You Gotta Be Out of Your Mind - A Shooter's Guide to the Mental Aspects of Sporting Clays & Life" and I enjoyed it so much I sent it to several friends for Christmas: http://www.ospschool.com/outmind.html

Their first book,"If It Ain't Broke, Fix It" is also good and provides the basics of their philosophy of shooting.

Hope this helps, SidelockSxS

Sidelock, I went to that web site you posted and read the sample chapter. It was helpful. Thanks. I shot a round of "cookies" today and felt real good. Had fun and shot well...back in the 70's.
