Anyone done any pattern testing with 4 buck. What choke did you find gave you the densest pattern at say 40-50 yards.? Looking to shoot some yotes, and have never shot the stuff before. I use a Beretta Xtrema.

Deer somtimes run far with the 00 buckshot.I just shot a doe five times with 12 pellet remington express mag.2 3/4 and she just was still putting up a fight.40-50 yd I dont think would drop a coyote with #4 buck.But the remington hevi-shot has a coyoyte round out.Made just for that game.Hevi-shot is nasty sh?t.

Every gun is different, so patterning would be the best bet. Short of that at 40-50 yards I would simply use Full choke.

I shot #4 buck at about 30 yards out of a 28 inch bbl with a full choke and it was tighter (not surprisingly at all) than mod and IM constrictions.

The pattern was still nice , round, and even. A good 10-12 inch circle and this was the cheapest imported buck (initials were S&B) available.
