Hi, I'm new to your forum. I must say it's well done, with much good info. So, I have a question. I've just gotten a Ithaca S X S double. It is 16 ga. and has 28 inch barrels, with ejector. I think both sides are mod choke. The serial number is 198000. Both barrels are stamped with "SMOKELESS POWDER STEEL". There is a setter at point stamped on the side plates. Everything works, there is some pitting near the end of the barrel. The rest of the barrels have about 80% of the blueing left. The bore is bright with a couple of minor pits. The wood is scratched with the finish very worn but not dented. The checking is worn and not sharp. Also, there is a pheasent in flight on the butt plate. Is this a field grade Flues? If it's not too much trouble, what is it worth?

1910 Flues , the grade should be on the water table (the flats of the reciever near the hinge) , it should be near the ***** marking there.

I'm thinking it denotes that it's a grade 1 Special.

The values run right at what the grade 1 runs , or, very similar to this from the Bluebook.

Grading 100% 98% 95% 90% 80% 70% 60% 50% 40% 30% 20% 10%
$1,375 $1,150 $925 $825 $750 $700 $650 $600 $550 $500 $425 $395

the format stinks but I'm sure you'll get it.

If you gave $100 for any Flues other than a parts gun then you really got a good deal any way it's sliced.
