I use Rem Sts, Win AA, Rem Gun Clubs, and Fed Top gun hulls interchangeibily. Powder is Clays with winchester primer and Rem TGT 12 wad, Downrange TGT Clone, or TGT 12 Claybuster wad. I havnt changed this load in 15 yrs of shooting registered skeet

Red dot/promo 17.5 grains or close to it
My favorite, only I prefer using down range wads as opposed to clay busters as the CB plastics up my barrel. . Promo is a great economical powder for this load.

My favorite skeet load: 7/8 oz of #9 shot, 17.3 gr Clay Dot, Clear Duster wad, in Rem hull with Cheddite primer...no wad snot like the CB's but it does leave a hard streak in the forcing cone area. It is not as messy to clean :) . If I do my job it'll break 'em all day long. I also had used this same formula with 1 oz.

Fio primer- cheap and they work
18 of Promo- cheap and it works (if you can find it)
Rem Gun Club- readily available and hold up real well
CB1100- perfect fit for this load: wad pressure just wiggling and nice flat crimp
1 ounce of 8 or 9
I am not a skeet shooter but for first shot doubles on trap it works great with #9. From the 16 works great with 8.

Remington Hulls
Downrange DRXL-1 Wad
Winchester Primers
1 Oz shot
17.5-18 grains of either Red Dot or Clay Dot.

I can usually use the same bushing for either one, and no adjustments needed on my MEC 9000 to get great looking shells with crimps that have just a slight dish to them.

I also reload Promo w/ 17.0 to 17.5 gr, looking for about 1200 fps.

I really like the price of the Promo powder; but it is a bit snappy. Anyone use a different powder with the idea of working toward something with a little less felt recoil?

AAHS hull, Fio 616 or WW209, and DRA12-1 over 18.4 grs Clay Dot. About 1220 FPS, clean (for a Dot powder), and all fits nicely in the AAHS hull which I have a ton of. Same component stack with 19.0 grs of Red Dot works very nicely too.

My favorite is 17.3 to 17.5 grs Clays, or Clay Dot, or Red Dot, or Promo, in a Remington hull with a DR XL-1 wad and 1 oz. #8-1/2 shot, using Win 209 Primers.

Used nothing but Clays since about 1992 when it came out, until recently when it became unobtainable. Have used Clay Dot since then and have used some Red Dot and Promo too. All work just fine.

Thanks to all! One of the observations I have made is the Red Dot/Promo popularity in favorite loads. The second is the DR wads.

I see some extra room in the STS hulls with the CB wad, with zero wad pressure. Is the DR a better fit?

I've read Titewad is fairly dense in terms of room required, any fitment issues (dished crimps)?

Nice to see someone who likes E3. I have just 1 pound of this, but I haven't loaded it yet. I'm going to try this alongside the RD/Promo box this weekend.
