Industrial loads are often used to break deposits out of kilns, furnaces, cokers, boilers, etc. Instead of cooling down the unit and going in, there is a small door that can be opened and a gun fired in to dislodge whatever build up has formed. Like sandblasting, but with a big gun. Winchester still makes 8ga shell for industrial purposes.
