Hi Folks,
Me and the other half ar getting this year and honeymooning in California in september (San-fran moving down over 2 weeks to LA via: yeosmite, death vally, vagas and santa-barbra) we are both shooters but very much more so myself so while am over theres a few bits of shooting I would like to do, theres a couple of pistols i would love to shoot and some fully/semi automatics i would love to have a bash with also and then theres shooting/hunting related retail shopping!

How ever I dont want to waste time or be ripped off so can anyone give me any advice and pointers for when over there ?

All the best,

Matt

Welcome to the colonies come September. Your big gun focus should be Vegas. There are places where you can shoot all types of fully automatic guns. I haven't done it but friends say it is fun, but expensive. Make sure you visit the Bass Pro Shop in Vegas which is attached to a casino. It is huge an an outdoorsman's Disneyland. If you are into fishing, they have lots of interesting things as well as lots of guns and accessories. I shoot shotguns in the LA area and the two places within the city that are fun are Moore & Moore and Triple B. Both have websites and rent shotguns. You are coming to California at the perfect time weather wise. by chance if you are a sports fisherman, it is also prime tuna fishing time if you are into salt water fishing. Enjoy your nuptials and have a great honeymoon. Remember, your wife's interest in guns will decline once she has the ring on her finger and you are contractually committed!!

Well not long to go now. I have drawn up my wish list of firearms to shoot and so far they are:
1911 in .45acp
MP5 in 9mm
M14
FN FAL
H&K G3
M1 Grand
Browning BAR
Smith and weston revolver
Walther PPK (james bonds gun)
Lugar
Winchester under leaver rifle

If i can get to shoot any of these i will be as happy as i pig in muck. But i have a budget of $400 so not sure what i will be able shoot and how much for this.

10 weeks today and counting :D Its going to be better than christmas !
