Everything I've read or heard about them is very positive! I read a short post from a gunsmith who disected one and was duly impressed with the internal machining, fit and finish. He described it as typical FN! That can't be too bad. I've looked at a standard grade field gun localy and must admit it was light years better than the first Supreme I saw a couple years back when they first hit the shelves. Deplorable was all I could use to describe that specimine. This is definatly different!

Regardding Franchi, Beretta, and Browning, I have some of all three. All very nice guns. My favorite in each of thier representative styles. I have a Veloce, S682x unsingle Trap, and a Lightning Sporting Clays Edition. Fine guns indeed, all of them. More money than the Supreme depending on where you buy them. If I didn't already have the three I described, plus quite a few more I didn't mention I'd be in the market for one myself, might be anyway!

I almost bought a Supreme Select Sporting... but just happened to find a beautiful used gun the day I went to the shop to order it.

I've actually heard a lot of positive things: lot of gun for the money, the solid reputation of FN Belgium which makes them, nicely blued barrels and decent wood.

I've also heard a few cons: horrible wood to metal finish, inconsistent engraving, some shops saying they've had dissatisfied customers.

This is a post of mine which has some info you may be able to use: http://www.shotgunworld.com/bbs/viewtopic.php?t=3975&highlight=

There are quite a few posters who actually own Supremes, so I'm sure they'll be chiming in with helpful feedback... :D
