I am looking for someone who may be able to help me fix some issues I have with my Winchester 1300. It is a 12 gauge stainless marine defender model. It was purchased new by my uncle in 1991. The gun was used frequently a few years ago but is rarely used now. However it has a lot of sentimental value and I would like to have it working properly.
Some ammunition works fine, but with most brands the last round and occasionally others are being ejected out the bottom loading port. I've slowly cycled the gun and watched it. The shell latch is not releasing the shell until the forward stroke and the round is below the elevator and goes flying out the bottom. It usually occurs with the last round only. If I complete the back stroke of the pump and leave the action open, then give the receiver a good smack the shell well release, then I can close the action and chamber the round like normal.
The gun is clean. The only thing of concern I seen inside was a few small burrs. Smoothed them out and it did not help.
Anyone have any ideas? Any help would be appreciated.
