Winchester 1300 feeding issues

You might have broken a magazine throat. It is either a one-piece or two-piece plastic, flanged bushing that fits in the forward wall of the receiver and on the back end of the magazine tube. It's function is to control position of the rearmost shell in the magazine tube allowing the shell latches to function properly. When it breaks, which the originals often did, the pieces fall out of the gun, and the owner is not aware until the gun malfunctions.

It can be replaced fairly easily if need be. As I understand it, the original Winchester throats are hard to find, but after-market replacements are available. You can buy them here.
